With the blessing of Christ, Bishop Nifon celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St Nicholas in Mahajanga.
A great many faithful took part prayerfully and came forward to Holy Communion with faith.
After the Liturgy, with the blessing of Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II, new Christians were baptised and entered the Orthodox Church.
The day ended with the traditional meal, in an atmosphere of joy and fellowship.
